Preliminary Meeting to Launch Activities at the University of Gharyan

On the morning of Tuesday, September 23, 2025, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, bringing together the Director of University Activities at the Ministry and Mr. Tarek Shaaban, Director of Student Activities at the University of Gharyan. The meeting focused on mechanisms to activate university activities within the University of Gharyan.

Discussions addressed the challenges facing the implementation of these activities, along with a review of the university’s proposal to host the second Chess Championship at the level of Libyan universities. Preparations for the championship were also discussed, including reviewing the organizational regulations, determining the number of participating students, setting the launch date, and arranging accommodations for delegations from participating universities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to refer a copy of the championship’s regulations to the Ministry’s Activities Department, coordinate with the Libyan Chess Federation for technical supervision and refereeing, and establish a timeline to complete preparations. The championship’s launch date will be announced once preparations are finalized.
