In the presence of His Excellency the Minister, Dr. Mohamed Al‑Dabeeb, and a number of directors of departments and offices at the Ministry, the first forum for media office directors at Libyan universities and academies was held today, Monday, 17/08/2026. The event was organized by the Ministry’s Communication and Media Office and took place in the Ministry’s headquarters meeting hall.At the beginning of the forum, His Excellency the Minister delivered a speech in which he emphasized the important role played by media offices in highlighting the efforts and activities of universities and conveying their message to society. He noted that media is a key partner in supporting the progress of higher education and showcasing its contributions.He also stressed the importance of developing media performance, focusing on content quality, keeping pace with rapid developments in digital media and social platforms, and benefiting from modern technologies, including artificial intelligence tools. He affirmed the need to strengthen communication and exchange expertise among media offices.The forum continued with discussions on several topics related to the reality of media work, the challenges facing media offices, ways to improve performance and content, and enhancing coordination between the offices and the Ministry. Training needs and the exchange of experiences were also addressed.The forum concluded with a set of practical recommendations and proposals aimed at improving media work in universities, strengthening joint efforts, and establishing a continuous mechanism for communication and knowledge exchange, contributing to building a unified media vision and advancing university media.
