Coverage of Libya Al-Ahrar channel on the innovation of Gharyan University students

22 Apr, 2026

Libya Al-Ahrar channel covered an exceptional graduation project by three students at Gharyan University (Kawthar Al-Lafi Muftah, Jannat Ashour, and Mubarka Belkheir), supervised by Dr. Mustafa Ali Ibrahim.

The project focuses on creating an assistive exoskeleton to support people with mobility impairments. This technical system aims to simulate human movement and help those affected by paralysis. It took five months of intensive research in kinematic equations and mechanical design.

The team faced major logistical and technical challenges, most notably the lack of specialized laboratories within the faculty and the need for both financial and moral support to complete manufacturing. The supervisor and students called on government and university bodies to provide a well-equipped research environment, stressing the importance of nurturing such innovations to serve society.

This work represents a model of scientific determination despite limited resources, with aspirations to develop the project into an effective tool in physical therapy.
