As part of monitoring and evaluating student awareness and guidance activities in higher education, the Director of the General Department of Student Awareness and Guidance at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research carried out an official visit to Gharyan University. The visit aimed to assess the situation of the faculties, and he was received by the Director of Student Awareness and Guidance Offices and the Director of the Projects Department at the University. At the beginning of the visit, a field committee was formed and conducted tours that covered several faculties, including the Faculty of Accounting, the Faculty of Medicine and Oral and Dental Surgery, the Faculty of Basic Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty of Pharmacy.During the field visits, the committee reviewed the actual conditions of the faculties, documented observations through on‑site visits and field photography, and identified positive aspects, shortcomings, and challenges that require development to help create an environment suitable for students. The Director of the General Department also held several meetings with faculty deans and academic staff, during which they discussed problems, obstacles, and mechanisms for developing student awareness and guidance programs, as well as strengthening the role of faculties in providing academic, psychological, and social support to students.The visit also included direct meetings with a number of students, where the Director listened to their opinions and observations and learned about the main difficulties and challenges they face in their academic, service, or social journey, stressing the importance of addressing these challenges through coordination between the University administration and the Ministry of Higher Education.At the end of the visit, the Director of the General Department praised the warm reception, hospitality, and cooperation shown by the University leadership, the relevant departments, faculty deans, and academic staff, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination between the Ministry and the University and the implementation of recommendations that would enhance the student awareness and guidance system.The recommendations included: activating student awareness and guidance offices in all faculties, preparing a unified annual plan for programs and activities, strengthening communication channels with students and regularly listening to their suggestions and concerns, preparing reports and submitting them to the Ministry, and following up on the implementation of recommendations.
