As part of Gharyan University's commitment to supporting scientific research and actively participating in specialized academic conferences, a research team from the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science – Gharyan University took part in the First International Conference on Chemical Safety and Security. The event was organized by the Faculty of Science at Misrata University, with participation from a distinguished group of national and international researchers and experts.

The team presented a scientific paper titled:

"Risk Assessment of Commonly Used Organic Solvents in the Chemistry Department Laboratories – Gharyan University: A Study on the Adequacy of Preventive Measures Against Potential Hazards."

Representing the university in this research were members of the Chemical Safety and Security Research Team from the Department of Chemistry:

The paper provided a field-based analytical study of the current state of chemical safety in the department’s laboratories, utilizing various scientific research tools such as observation checklists, interviews, surveys, and risk matrices. It also offered practical recommendations for improving the safety system in line with international standards.

This participation underscores the university’s commitment to encouraging its academic staff to contribute to creating a safe educational and professional environment while fostering a culture of applied research to benefit the community and educational institutions.
