As part of its efforts to develop the scientific research system and promote a culture of collaborative research, Gharyan University organized today, Sunday, June 28, 2026, the founding forum for launching research groups at the university. The event took place in the Faculty of Law auditorium, attended by the University President, the Chair of the Excellence Committee, and a large number of faculty members and researchers from various colleges.

The forum was opened with a speech by the University President, who emphasized the importance of research groups as a fundamental pillar for improving the quality of scientific output and fostering cooperation among researchers from different disciplines, contributing to scientific solutions for developmental challenges and serving society.

The university’s vision for supporting research groups was also presented, highlighting their alignment with national priorities, enabling them to compete for local and international research funding programs, and encouraging interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary studies.

The forum featured an introductory presentation on the mechanism of establishing research groups, their objectives, fields of work, and their expected role in enhancing research efficiency, increasing scientific publications, and strengthening research partnerships with universities and research institutions inside and outside Libya.

This forum is part of Gharyan University’s strategy to build an advanced research environment and instill a culture of excellence and innovation, keeping pace with global developments in higher education and scientific research.
