Gharyan University participates in ministerial workshops on digital transformation and the smart university card
As part of its commitment to digital modernization and strengthening technical infrastructure, Gharyan University took part over the past two days (Monday and Tuesday, July 21–22, 2025) in a series of workshops and technical meetings organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the participation of Libyan universities.
🔹 First Workshop:
The university delegation participated in a workshop organized by the Ministry’s Information and Documentation Center at the Corinthia Hotel under the title:
“Smart University Card Applications,” in collaboration with the company “Optimal Solutions.”
The university was represented by Dr. Saleh Qashout – University President, Mr. Tarek Khalifa – Director of the Information and Documentation Center, Mr. Salah Al-Fayd – General Registrar, along with several staff members from the Registrar’s Office.
The workshop addressed the importance of the smart card in providing integrated digital services to students and faculty members, such as electronic payment, secure access to facilities, and identity verification, in line with the move toward smart and secure universities.
🔹 Second Workshop:
On Tuesday, the Director of the University’s Information and Documentation Center participated in an extended meeting organized by the Ministry’s Electronic Portal Team, attended by directors of documentation and information offices from various universities.
The meeting discussed updates to the Ministry’s electronic portal and explored mechanisms to overcome challenges faced by students, assistants, and faculty members in registration procedures, emphasizing joint cooperation to develop digital services in the higher education sector.
These participations reflect Gharyan University’s commitment to advancing digital transformation and developing its technical systems to support the educational process and align with modern trends in university education.
