Based on the directives of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Imran Al-Qeib and the instructions of the Director General of the Information and Documentation Center at the Ministry of Education Dr. Bubakr Isa Al-Lafi, a committee was tasked with overseeing the network connectivity of universities and digital libraries.

The committee, chaired by the Director of the Optical Fiber and Network Connectivity Project at the Information Center of the Ministry Mr. Abdulsalam Emseik, and including follow-up member and Director of the Information and Documentation Center of the Western Coast Branch Dr. Al-Siddiq Al-Mureimi, and Director of the Planning Department at the Information Center and committee member Mr. Abdulhaleem Saleh Khalifa, conducted a visit to Gharyan University this morning, Thursday, January 16, 2025. They were received by Dr. Ali Al-Fiqi, Deputy Vice President for Academic Affairs at the university, Mr. Mohamed Al-Sunni, General Secretary of the university, Mr. Tarek Khalifa, Director of the Information and Documentation Center at the university, and Mr. Ashraf Al-Jali, Director of the Libraries and Publications Department.

The meeting discussed the progress and achievements of the Optical Fiber Project and the connection of the university to high-speed internet, as well as the Digital Library Project. The committee praised Gharyan University's readiness and cooperation in working on these ministerial projects.
