Participation of Gharyan University in the ceremony announcing the strategic plan and the operational and supplementary manual of the Financial Crimes, Money Laundering, and Terrorism Financing Control Authority.

Gharyan University, represented by Dr. Ali Al-Faqih, Vice President for Academic Affairs, participated on Monday morning, April 20, 2026, in the ceremony announcing the strategic plan and the operational and supplementary manual of the Financial Crimes, Money Laundering, and Terrorism Financing Control Authority at the National Council for Economic and Social Development.  


The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Justice of the Government of National Unity, the chairmen of the policy and reconciliation committees of the High Council of State, the head of the executive team for the Prime Minister’s initiatives, the head of the Authority, the Director General of the National Council for Economic and Social Development, the head of the General Authority for Media Content Monitoring, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zakat Fund, directors of organizations and planning at the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense, a number of university presidents, members of judicial bodies, representatives of social councils in municipalities and regions, officials of the United Nations Development Office concerned with crime and drugs, a representative of North American University in Tunisia, and researchers in law and forensic accounting, in addition to members of the Financial Crimes Authority.  


The ceremony began with verses from the Holy Qur’an and the national anthem, followed by speeches from the head of the Authority, who emphasized its role in promoting transparency and financial governance, and praised the Prime Minister’s continuous follow-up of the Authority’s work.  


The Director General of the National Council for Economic and Social Development stressed the importance of strategies that raise the standards of regulatory bodies to confront corruption, especially financial corruption.  


In the speech of the Government of National Unity, the head of the executive team for the Prime Minister’s initiatives praised the efforts of all workers in the Authority, affirming the government’s commitment to advancing transparency and protecting the economy through its regulatory and specialized bodies in combating financial corruption crimes.  


The chairman of the policy committee of the High Council of State expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Authority for its noble efforts to improve institutional oversight performance in accordance with current legislation and laws.  


Subsequently, specialized presentations were delivered on the strategic plan and the operational and supplementary manual by members of the Council of Experts of the Authority, outlining visions, objectives, values, and standards that contribute to implementing the strategic plan.  


The head of the Authority then presented a shield of appreciation to the Prime Minister in recognition of his continuous efforts to improve the institutional and regulatory performance of the Authority.  


Finally, a ceremony was held to honor the success partners from academic and university institutions that contributed to promoting the culture of combating financial crimes through joint preventive and training programs, including:

- Al-Qimmah Modern University  

- National Council for Economic and Social Development  

- Al-Bahith Academy for Graduate Studies
