In the context of the Faculty of Science's interest in quality and its applications, and coinciding with the World Quality Day celebrated annually in November, the Faculty of Science in Gharyan organized a forum on Thursday, 21 November 2024, in collaboration with the University's Office of Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation. The forum included all components of the faculty to celebrate World Quality Day, with the aim of educating and raising awareness about the importance of quality.

This event also coincided with the announcement by the faculty of its initiation of the self-evaluation process for the college, for the second time since it submitted its dossier to the Center for Quality Assurance of Educational and Training Institutions to obtain institutional accreditation.

The forum began with a speech by Ms. Sana Ramadan Al-Jali, Head of the Quality Department at the faculty. This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Tarek Faraj Al-Dabea, through a workshop conducted on the sidelines of the forum, focusing on identifying strengths and weaknesses in performance to meet the requirements for achieving quality standards and accreditation. The goals of the workshop were as follows:

1. Understanding the importance of implementing quality systems to achieve the faculty's vision.

2. Learning about the mechanisms and procedures for conducting the self-evaluation process and the self-study report.

3. Identifying new opportunities for future development that could redefine the best strategic position for the faculty.

4. Determining strengths and weaknesses in performance to meet the requirements for achieving quality standards and accreditation.

5. Establishing the starting point for building and implementing continuous improvement plans to meet standards.

6. Identifying priorities to focus on in improvement or corrective actions.

In conclusion, the floor was opened for attendees to discuss queries related to the lecture topics.
