On Tuesday, 03/12/2024, Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed Ashour, Director of the International Cooperation Office at Gharyan University, participated in a virtual meeting held between the Director of the International Cooperation Office at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Directors of International Cooperation Offices at Libyan universities. The meeting discussed the payment of dues to international and regional organizations and the extent to which universities benefit from these subscriptions. The meeting focused on the following points:

1. Distributing a comprehensive questionnaire to evaluate cooperation programs with regional and international institutions.

2. Holding a meeting after completing the questionnaire that includes all Directors of International Cooperation Offices at Libyan universities.

3. Preparing a clarifying memorandum detailing the extent to which Libyan universities benefit from subscriptions to international and regional organizations, to be submitted to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for review.

4. Providing comprehensive information about the system for settling dues and the required documents related to the International Cooperation Office, which is linked to the main system of the Committee for Settling International Contributions at the Council of Ministers.

This meeting was held based on the directives of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research concerning opening avenues of scientific and research cooperation between Libyan universities, the ministry's affiliated scientific institutions, and their regional and international counterparts.
